A Distant Longing

Shadows step into
the moon's light, elongate
into imagination....

Here
amoung cave dwellers
painting the scene of an ancient hunt
I am
a dreamwalker walking through the
red dust of desire

The sea is a symphony--
I hear waves crashing
a thousand
cicadas climbing their insect legs
into the drum beat of night

Into the rhythm of blue violins
playing a tzigane rhapsody
the veil of day falls
now
the dream meets the dreamer
a thousand nightfalls ago

"a dreamwalker walking through the
red dust of desire"

in my changes in my read of this
I placed these words

"a dreamwalker seeking in
dusts red desire

A symphony of seas-
their waves crash
a thousand cicadas
climbing insect legs

the dark beat of night"

just my view of your descriptive wonderful
poem!

Thank You

S

That 1st stanza is one of the best I've read here in a long time even though it Doesn't rhyme lol.."cicadas climb their insect legs............I visualize a contortionist inect rolling around trying to climb itself.........which is good for a smile...............stan

As always I miss reading your work and I hope by now you have compiled your poetic masters in a book Anna. This is really good and I heard the noise and seen the vision in my mind as I read.

Now that is what makes a great Poetess - poetry that leaves much to the imagination. Miss reading your work and happy to see you are still here.
