as in "Dune"
the dreamer has awakened
to new realities
because of you
your delicate touch
bringing fresh sight
and sharpened perception
to my guarded world
I was once a vagabond
skimming my way
across my life
not getting involved
taking no chances
many close encounters
decided my path
of flight from
dreaded relations
I would only lightly
briefly touch down
on one night stands
but more often than not
preferring my own company
vowing never to be caught
in some smoldering affair
going nowhere
no more would my heart bleed
for the desperate and fleeting
then a chance meeting
with you, so guiless and true
before I realized or knew
I'd given my confidence to you
no more flitting for my own fancy
or taking wild chances
on dead end romances
when I melted into your eyes
our lives were changed forever
and I have found my strength
within a powerful
devotion ever ours

A story and poem all in there and a happy ending.
Like unto a bird on its first flight all those uncertainties and then the freedom of the air in a beautiful peace.
Loved the story, Yours Ian.T
Thanks, Ian,
I was afraid this one might be a bit too gushy. Thank you for reading and responding :)
always, Cat
