I am not quite sure what my dark side is, is there one?

I love to play with dark colours as contrasts to light ones,
their powerful pigments express a richness that is beautiful.

I love to wander in graveyards or ruined churches,
can feel ill at ease on seeing the lid of a grave squwiffy.

Or on seeing an empty house
with its windows staring like those of a dead man.

And the hairs on my skin are alerted
by the sense of loneliness on a wide wasteland of moors
with whispering winds and surreptitious mists wandering about.

Or on arriving at the top floor of a strange building
where there is no way to get down again and nobody there.

Lifts were what I dreamt of in nightmares
sometimes outside them in the shaft
I have no fear of using them
but avoid watching films with such dramas.

I avoid watching films with violence too,
I cannot enjoy them.

I am not scared by masks,
more scared by those who wear them;
drunk or deranged people can make me walk tall
and get the hell out of the way fast.

Angry people that shout send a knife into my heart if I loved them.

I don't like killing anything
but when my cat maimed mice
I saw no alternative

I enjoyed fencing
but wouldn't have done so
if I had thought I might hurt anybody

Not sure if I am black enough to take part here
but that's what turned up when I thought of my dark sides.

and you don't have to hurt someone or something to participate. Bring your fear of hurting someone, your hurt at being hurt or the hurt of natural selection. Anything you might attribute to the darkside! ~ love ya, ~ Sir Gee

I have been given the go-ahead to resume Chat on the Darkside! The first Saturday of December, will be the first session of Chat on the Darkside. 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. I expect that all dark poets shall have a "Dark Poem", for us to critique. It can be whatever you want, funny, sarcastic, romantic, your choice, just make it Dark! And short! A couple of hundred words, more or less. I know you are out there, so com'on, this is your chance to show us the Darkside! ~ Geezer
