~air of contentment

the heart of a woman

is deeply rooted

like a wild violet

and to know

the way berries warm inside a

hand

to watch vines unfold a thousand

blossoms

see poppies spread wide

open

to know this

is the only wisdom

worth knowing

from what i know personally of wild violets in my area, they have a very dense, fibrous root system. that seemed like a good metaphor to the heart of a woman! thanks for stopping in for a read! :)

I think its wonderful for a female poet to articulate what it is to be a woman. Especially for a man's edification.
