The Day My Shadow Left

One thing I've been forever admired, for
is my ability to create...

..a partnership between my body,
and my shadow, that's merely....."Great"!

I jest not, while I document
for those, who have not seen...

..for instance, like last St. Patrick's Day,
when we both arrived in green !

I've been known to mix it up
so, when I'm playing music at a "gig";

I've grown accustomed leaving my shadow at home,
because the dancing makes the patrons....."wig"!

Other than that, we were usually quite attatched,
at the wrist, ankle, and knee...

..with folks still coming from all around,
to view the partnership, of my shadow, and me.

Our movements were so coordinated,
we were "one", without making a sound...

..but, it gets old, and embarrassing
when shadow dancing, gets me....."clowned"!

So now, I travel everywhere
sans a shadow, in my wake...

..my life could be so much simpler,
if only this sadnmess, would give me a "break"!

...how ya doin'? Alot of thought DID go into this, from my heart, and not my head. My other half, and I have been together solidly, for quite some time.....and we are no more. I literally, and truly lost my shadow.
As for the competition, I'll have to check and see what the poem should be about.
Thanx, for the comments,
doc.
