A child daydreaming with a solemn face
As they stare off into open space
Lost in thought and far away
Eyes glistening, yet they won't say
What are they thinking, why so blue?
What story are they imagining too?
Are they dreaming of a place they'd go
Where they could be free and they'd know
That no matter what they'd be safe
The worries and fears of today erased
A place where they don't have to hide
Where they can be loved and full of pride
Maybe its a place they can call home
Where happiness can freely roam
A place that's never too far away
Where they can easily dream and pray

A Child Daydreaming
Hello, Clentin,
I found this to go very well with the prompt. Really tugs at the heart. Quite moving...deep, rich poetry.
Thank you!

I love the piece...
for the simplicity of the story; the tale of lost children. Some battle their way to well-deserved positions in life; many do not.
I imagine that it is a part of what makes us, us! Our drive to be a part of the very humanity that we say we despise, having our own influence, or coasting along, content to ride the stream, long as we don't beach ourselves on our way to the end. Hmmmmm... My way of thanking you for the memories. ~ Geez.

Thank you for your comments. I had experience with many children and what they are thinking
At times would be a great surprise and also a great heartache!
