Desperation

Desperation
single young mother
nurses her newborn
cradled in protective arms
naked acceptance
in her weary eyes
hunger claws at them both...

your title. Right away, I thought of the Ukrainians, but thereafter, I thought too, of the millions of mothers around the world in the poorest nations and how they must be suffering. Due to the WAR, [it cannot be called anything else], There will be shortages of oats, wheat and corn, for they are a big producer of those grains and sell them to the African continent, on a regular basis. It won't just be expensive, for some there won't be any. You have made this poem as stark and bare as the going will be for those in need. ~ Geez and the boys.

after watching the news this morning, I would call it a slaughter, more than a war. what is worse, is motherless children with no where to turn. It is a very sad situation. it is monstrous and deplorable. thank you for reading and commenting.
