The Rose Of My Life by: Steven Mattison (Cat's Husband)

by: Steven Mattison:

The rose of my life is fading,
Petal by wilting petal.
As each falls to the ground,
A piece of my life goes with it.
But the penultimate beauty
And glorious fragrance of its bloom
Will live in my heart…
Forever.

but gorgeous! The true heart of any poet are the thoughts they bring to the page, not the flowery, lengthy, stuff that a lot of people write and try to impress with. I am impressed with the elegance of a simple thing from a poet's heart. Good stuff!

as much. He writes well, even if he only posts once in a while, I think that he will have a following here at Neo. Not everyone writes a romantic poem well. He has done that, and I for one, am looking forward to more. I'm sure that if he were to pick one of our Random poem titles, he would get practice and it would make for some good reading. Encourage him to write and then back off and watch him go. It doesn't necessarily have to be a romantic them, but if he finds so much inspiration in you, I'm sure that it would be worth the read. ~ Geez
