Planet Nowhere

Planet nowhere is a distant place
days pass by without a trace
people scatter to and fro
why they are here
they do not know
what is the purpose of our being
when we are given eyes unseeing

When we are given ears
that hear no sound
yet voices linger all around

Planet nowhere is a lonely place
we are here one day
then leave no trace

I can feel your frustration in this poem. but I differ in view point. I think that "we" have made a great impact on the planet...in its misuse and destruction...just look to the sky and oceans...it is criminal... and those who could do something about it are too busy tweeting while spouting; "Let's make America great again" sorry I didn't mean to get preachy. I greatly am feeling this poem and it has got me thinking!

Hi lynn, raw, questionning poem. Mostly, it's the powerful rich who destroy the planet. Earth will continue to exist long after humankind has become extinct. Already nature is reviving, not so us, with this pandemic. It's as if Revelations is upon us, but well, the prediction that our final days have arrived has been made many times, after most plagues, wars, famines, etc.
Your poem is powerful, I can also feel your anger, loneliness and frustrations. Good work, indeed. Best, Gracy

there are so many of us that are doing the right things and leading our lives with goodness and grace and those are the ones that come and go without being noticed this poem is for them
