A crazy Greek
Has lost his mind
Left his moral compass behind
no more apologizing
no now he is
thinking and devising
murderous plots
that will leave
enemies tied in knots
last night on CNN
He was quoted saying
This saga must end
World leaders are
Considering evacuations
After this lunatic’s
Live declarations
One article stated
That by tomorrow
Someone would be eliminated
Everyone wants to know
Who is this enemy?
And will the news show
This murderous scene
Or will they keep it clean
One lady said she heard
A man screaming in Greek
He was yelling
I dare you, call me weak
People were staring
As Police officers
we’re preparing
To take this nut by force
Some saw a shot gun
Other’s said a blow torch
A few saw grenades
As he sat at a bench
And took out a notebook
A bystander was all shook
He said in a calm voice
Bullets make a mess
The pen is my weapon of choice
Comments
Yeah...
them crazy Greeks! They will pull out a pen in gunfight! Gotta admire that. I like that you left until the last, to let the reader in on the mind of the writer. Almost like a twist ending. The pattern is very Rap-like and I wasn't disappointed in the end. Nice job! ~ Gee.
.
a good message Paul
a few things strike me immediately:
-as you mention a specific event on CNN, why would you not inform us who this person was in dedication or epitaph? if it is not a real person, a different story...or if that person was you! even more interesting, tell us all about that!
- complete the punctuation.
-i would change :
no more apologizing
no now he is
to
no more apologizing
he's thinking and devising.
-Paul you open the poem with rhyme and rhymes all over the place. I don't mind no actual scheme, but for the sake of the meter that would work fine too. But I think including totally non rhymes stanzas like
Some saw a shot gun
Other’s said a blow torch
A few saw grenades
That does not work for me.
But your on to something and keep at it...just let us ore into it. What is going on in Greece right now?
we know the world stage somewhat, Venezuela, Turkey, Syria...wtf is happening in Greece? Most of us, myself included, really know other than a few years ago they had a financial crises...
my take
Hey Paul
Sounds like a southern Greek (or at least honorary southern) lol. I enjoyed tis fast paced poem.....stan
Hello Paul
I am to be blamed fir not getting most of this. I am not v. Much with the world's news. I know it's my fault..so if I don't know the story, BUT, I have to say that I liked the last line very much...It definitely sends a good message!
