Friendship and Love

To grow in love is hard sometimes
When you keep your things and I keep mine.
We say hello and occasionally talk,
But we never go for a long summer's walk.
We care for each other in what we say
And show our love in our own special way.
Growing in love though is more than this,
It's more than a handshake, it's more than a kiss.
Somehow it's a sharing of thoughts and desires,
It's something true friendship really requires.
We reach for each other and share little things,
But there's got to be more for two human beings.
We need to be known and understood
For what we are, be it bad or good.
I love, I love, and I love to be loved for me,
But how can we share and grow in love with the me you never see?

Geezer

the relationship with the theme and I guess it does relate. Just not sure it pops you in the eye. I like your use of rhyme and you seem well versed in it's use. The last couple of lines could use just a smidgeon of tweak, but overall, a very good work. I will be perusing your other work and hope that I see as much thought in the rest of it! ~ Geezer.
