Words on Holiday (December contest)

I have only twenty minutes to complete this task
Have you noticed the days are longer at last?
I was only thinking of what to do for you here
This has left me in a right stew, of what to do

Now the muses circle around, me they confound,
I gave them up many years ago as age crept in
You see I can’t remember what they are
Still I hear poets say they lost theirs today

I just laugh to myself and say what the hell
Write you have many words inside your head.
If you can’t hear them then you are dead
But that is another state to be happy in

I have friends on the other side you know
They with me abide, I can be on the other side
I will help you in this and their world
But just believe in what you think is absurd.

Reach out and gather more words,
The holiday will be over soon.
