Rain And The Woods

When it rains,
I imagine myself walking in the woods,
Drifting deeper while admiring
The fresh, green foilage
Of the trees.

I close my eyes
And enjoy the raindrops
As they fall around me.

I breathe in
The scent of the wet earth
And of the world that engulfs me.

I don't mind
Getting drenched.
I just want
To turn into mist
And envelop the woods.
I just want to fade
Without a trace
And come and go like
The rain.

Have a look at one I put on stream a month or so ago called "A quiet time" it is a walk into the woods but this is not as good as it should be.
I have mentioned on your last one about sharp words, something like the Scent of something, the thing a Bloodhound follows, where as the perfumed blossoms aroused my thoughts of peace or even aromas can be thought provoking.
Your thoughts are great and the themes are good just a little change in the words , don't be afraid of using flowery language, this is what Poetry is for.
Paint a picture that will encompass my heart then hold it with a gentleness of a new born breath.
Take care,
Yours as always, Ian

but a walk in the woods is ever a welcome break. I must admit to not being terribly conscious of the smell of the earth but the sweet odour of grass is always appreciated. Having said all that, I must admit to a great liking for this poem. Well done.
