FORGE OF WORDSMITHS

Let the forge burn hot and bright
incinerate impurities
which linger about late at night.
Heat dispels insecurities.

Withdraw the ingot from the fire
and to the anvil cold and hard.
Let the hammer vent your ire
sending sparks into the yard.

Each spark is not a part of form
so beat them to achieve your desire
a return to forgotten "norm".
A time before the smithy's fire.

Vent your fury on that steel;
pound it into what you want.
Transfer all the pain you feel
into a silicon chip's font.

Then quench the product in cold oil
adding strength to last the years.
We'll then recall the toils
performed before the time of tears.

Then, lastly, polish this thing
so it will shine with lasting beauty
long after the smith has taken wing
and fled into eternity.

Wonderfully penned poem drawing a parallel with a Smith with an insightful message between the lines...

Thank you. It seems that all too often our brothers and sisters do their best work when they are in trouble or other kinds of suffering. They use the forge of misfortune to temper their verse.....

lovedly

Stan in the sixties
men and women wouldn't touch it
in late eighties
they said okay
oldies can' enter w/o help
now since 1999
and then
all love it entered all over....
whence times have changed?????>>>>
Stan you have seemingly gone old

youth today are much more bold
their only pen they now
woodenly HOLD
amen

what will happen next
ask the newer generation

THEY will end
ere they commence
so may be it thence
no time to waste
this and that foreplay or kiss
oh quick fix
