the idea of syllable count is over. the spirit of Haiku is in the shortness of verse and theme and the AH!HA! moment. "American" haiku was my attempt to move the mind to another place instead of 5-7-5- syllable count.
As I wrote in another comment, I am thinking of dropping the word "Haiku" completely, to avoid confusion.
The average syllable count of contemporary Haiku is getting smaller and smaller. These rules are not written in stone, although one may think that because of the way they were introduced to Haiku. I know the "rules', and choose to ignor them,( in this context). Read more than the first page of Haiku lessons online! lol

thank you for the inputs and sharing your thoughts ...ofcourse innovation is always welcome...i do appreciate short writes and believe that they must be very challenging in the context of consizing the thoughts in a few words or lines...

warm regards...and Wishing You and your beloveds A Happy New Year..
